WHAT IS

ICT ?

{ 1 }

Information Communication Technology, or better known, ICT encompasses almost everything we do everyday.  ICT can be defined as "the many technologies that enable us to receive information and communicate or exchange information with others" (Anderson, 2010).

In today's verchanging, fast paced world of ICT gadgets and gizmos, it is vital that we know and understand this technology and how it empowers us so we are able to correctly implement it and effectively use it.

Simply put, technology encompasses anything that we are able to use to communicate and connect with others and the world around us.

IN MY

CLASSROOM

We provide many opportunities for the children in our Grade 3 class to engage with a variety of different ICT's in their learning experiences. We incorperate ICT into all of the different key learning areas (KLA's) to broaden and enrich the learning opportunities, cater for a diverse range of student needs and engagae the students in fun and meaningful learning activities.

Our class is part of a small school in the community of Mount Cotton, about 45 minutes from the Brisbane CBD. Our class contains 21 children with a variety of different learning styles and ablilties. Our class currently contains 13 boys and 8 girls.

EMPOWERING

Young People To Reach Their
Full Potential!

The rapid advances in ICT are quickly changing the way people use, share, develop and process information. These changes are providing a platform for and era of IT-based living and dependancy.  With so many rapid changes, the young people of our societiee need to be highly skilled in their knowledge, understanding and use of ICT (MCEEYTA, 2008).
